You make me like things that aren't usually my thing and I'm weak for it. Somewhere around the cufflink being undone, I realized, like Crowley, I was going to like whatever was given to me. This line in particular got me:
"Aziraphale had agreed that Crowley couldn’t come, not yet, and he wouldn’t until he was told to because he’d finally given up any pretence that he wasn’t good."
He had finally given up any pretense that he wasn't good. Ugh. He pushes until he gets himself punished because he can't believe it, so Az punishes him until he does. This is such a great reversal. It's so good and you're character voice is as on point as ever. I love it.
I didn't expect to see you here, but I'm so glad that I did. You leave me words that I can swim in and damn if I didn't bring out the inflatable raft for these ones
