But Feng Xin is filled with a fire he hasn’t known in a decade. As he reaches down to pluck a flower of his own against a starry backdrop, he remembers Cuo Cuo crouched over this very same garden. Feng Xin doesn’t know what his small heart yearned for, but he remembers their exchange from that day. He recalls as he turns to Mu Qing, stem in hand and petal in another while a tiny voice rings clear in his head.
