Summary
Homelander took a moment to visualise lasering Vogelbaum in half, reaching with his fist into the doctor’s back and ripping out his spine while his back was turned, locking him in the ba-… Vogelbaum was nothing, nothing more than another weak knee-ed, lily-livered, mouth breather. And he certainly wasn’t John’s father in any meaningful sense. So why was he hesitating? This man had been the cause of so much of his… John glanced down, breathing heavily and willing himself to pull it back together, to slip back into Homelander.
“I’m the world’s greatest superhero” Homelander snarled as he raised his head to level his gaze with Vogelbaum.
Vogelbaum was facing him again, arms held behind his back. He took several steps closer until he was cupping the side of Homelander’s face with one hand. He held John’s face with a gentleness he’d lacked through so much of John’s childhood, his face contorted into a mask of remorse that his eyes betrayed. John couldn’t help but lean into it.
“You’re my greatest failure”, Vogelbaum said coldly before swinging his arm up and ramming a syringe into Homelander’s left ear and pushing down on the plunger.
