Summary
Experiencing near death felt like skydiving. The rush of adrenaline before taking the leap of faith was that syringe, fuelling the virus into his veins. He knew what he was doing to himself but the hope of continuing fighting was the shot of adrenaline that blinded every fear of what would happen next. The fall was harsh, air cutting through the skin and the feeling of never going to be able to go back to his life. The cure, medicines, training, love; everything was hard, too fast, too sudden.
Some moments felt like he was going to crash into the ground, but sometimes he would bounce back and keep going. Even while falling down, he was grateful to be still breathing, waiting for the chance to have a parachute. But no one has to be his parachute, he had to build it himself. Having help it’s okay, but he has to want to live for himself and not for others. It’s my life and I decide how and when to continue it.
