Buttercup found solace in routine. Everything had a time and a place. There was only one thing in her and Butch's life that wasn’t structured and organized outside of crime-fighting. And, as cliche as it sounds - and believe it, Buttercup hates cliches - that one thing, was their love. Or, more specifically, declarations of their love.

Three minutes. Two lines. One stick.
Well... not just one stick. She was looking down at three of them, eyes wide as she sat on the floor of the locker room, a gnawing feeling in her stomach. It was ridiculous, in her opinion, to put so much weight on one of those damned sticks. They were not reliable a hundred percent of the time. She knew that... she was literally a doctor who specialized in babies and pregnancy... they gave false results all of the time... but they rarely gave false positives... especially not three false positives.
Or: Buttercup and Butch's journey to becoming parents as infant and child healthcare professionals.

Gruffly, Buttercup snorts. "It does. It's almost as smelly as you."
That's a lie. It was nowhere near pungent. If anything, the blanket had a hint of laundry detergent clinging to its fabric. It just added to the ever-growing list of comfort that this inanimate object was providing her.
