Mother’s expression closed off. She shifted her grip on the child in her arms and turned sharply. There was no maid nearby; the only person available to take Olivier from her was Clive. Joshua expected her to pick one son over the other—Joshua couldn’t remember a time when she had ever trusted Clive with something she considered precious.
To the shock of everyone, but none so much as Clive himself, Mother dumped her squirming two year old into Clive’s arms so she could continue to argue with Joshua.
“Everything I did, I did for you! I had your father killed to secure our place in an empire threatening to swallow us! Do you think that betrayal was nothing? Do you think I sacrificed nothing to keep you safe?”

Stories have been told of Leviathan, the Lost Eikon. It was curious how, in a time known as the War of the Eikons, there was one Eikon that was mysteriously absent from the conflict. Some believed that Leviathan abandoned the world, believing that it had grown too poisoned with the sins of man. Others posited that she was dead, her bloodline of Dominants wiped from the face of the earth.

When Clive is out scouting he gets caught by the mage and falls under her enchantment, then she sets him free with a mission to sabotage the Hideaway. The longer the spell posesses him the sicker he becomes but any true soldier of the Imperium must carry out his orders even if it kills him.

Clive punished himself by gazing into your eyes. Seeing exactly what he's done. They suddenly flash crimson. “I'll kill you! I'll fucking kill you!” A stream of fire bursted from your mouth, engulfing Clive. How he wished he could just take it and burn away right on the spot. Make it all go away. The guilt and regret. Ifrit and Cid, however, had other plans. Your flames felt warm, licking his skin. You screamed in frustration. It explained the nickname however, the wry thought shooting through his mind as he watched you go mad.
