Summary
Fraught with his own self-importance, He Xuan suddenly thought the cool breeze choking. Who was he to bring poetry to a Goddess? Dropping the paper, he watched it float dizzyingly toward the floor - shined by his hard morning’s labor. There were apologies he should say, to this Goddess his undeserving words had offended, but He Xuan was choked by his own pride. Apologies would not fall.
And neither did the paper.
Barely a nail’s length from the ground, a burst of wind suddenly lifted it high. He Xuan watched as the paper coiled and danced on the breeze, spun wildly until it came to the altar set in front of the divine statue. It’s journey ended, not on the table, but resting in the Wind Master’s beckoning hands. He Xuan stared, his jaw open wide.
