god DAMN. 'Blood Sticks' by Blue_Thallium. This fic is a fucking CLASSIQUE for me, I have been going back and rereading it for YEARS. This is like. The kind of masochism I love. Just straight up, no 'dominant/submissive' roleplay, no 'punishments,' etc, just the good 'ole "Hey, can you kick the shit outta me?" AND THEN HE DOES. And, like Eren says, it's better that Levi's not into it. Pog. Absolutely GOD TIER fic. Wish there was more of this. -

He’s a sweet boy. There are holes in his mind, and they mold themselves swiftly, almost willingly in the shape of Steve. Someone was there before him, that much is clear, but it’s not the foggy haze of a vampire’s thrall. There’s an elegance to that, some subtlety, but this is like someone took an iron rod and tore large, messy grooves through the man’s brain.

Bucky is delirious, paranoid, and physically trembling - barely holding onto reality, really - after he frees himself from HYDRA's shackles, motivated by something he's forgotten. He can't get back what he has forgotten. He doesn't even remember what he wants to get back!
He can't remember. All he can do is keep moving. Until he can't. Crashing when the different cocktails of drugs HYDRA forced into their weapon to keep it functioning correctly (with various uses from lulling it into obedience after finding its feet enough to try to disobey again all the way to shots of drugs that it’d be given mid-mission, helping it to stay awake and alert, even if the weapon was running on empty) still within its system are finally burned through. And he isn’t able to outrun the symptoms of withdrawal like he was trying to run from his captive past.
However, at least Steve has impeccable timing; finding him at this make-or-break moment and coaxing him back into the light.
