His dark hair is pressed against his scalp, his entire body dripping wet and Katsuki can hear the harsh breaths through the rain thundering outside. He looks up and he can‘t help but freeze, mustering the toxic green eyes he hasn‘t seen in years.

He inches slightly as he braces himself on the edge of the roof. He’s ready. More ready, maybe, than he’s ever been. The soles of his shoes are pressed flush to the wall of the building and his hands grip the course edge of the building. He looks down at the city commotion, then up at the Big Dipper constellation (the first one he could ever identify as a kid). He feels his heart finally slow down to an acceptably calm rhythm. He closes his eyes. He doesn’t feel anything anymore. He doesn’t hear anything.
