Damian ducked down when he thought the impostor might glance upward, scared that saying or doing anything would cause the man to vanish. The muggers were handled quickly, and then he was looking around and:
"Robin, I know you're there!" he called out suddenly.
Damian flinched. He started to shift, body tense.
"I-" he started, voice strangled. An unfamiliar voice interrupted him.
"Nightwing," the high child's voice scoffed. Not unfamiliar after all- A boy wearing Robin's bright red, yellow, and green landed next to Nightwing, nudging idly at one of the muggers with his foot.
Damian was hallucinating. His body shook with tension, like a drawn bow, string just on the edge of snapping.

The city outside groans under its new queen, Aegon has fled, Aemond has taken Harrenhal, and yet Rhaenyra stands in her stripped room, crownless and terrible, asking for judgment as though Alicent has any right to give it.
Perhaps she does; and perhaps that is the final cruelty.
tldr: the one where they slowly reshape the future of Rhaenyra’s reign, mend what has been broken, and rebuild their own family from the ruins. the slowest of burns, really.

Susie was the one who found them. Kris had been holding Noelle’s chin up, out of the water, and Susie would always swear Noelle was still alive for a heartbeat after bringing the duo ashore. A heartbeat, however, is only that. Days later, an investigative team arrive at Hometown and rub salt in the wound, claiming that all signs point to Kris being the perpetrator of this murder-suicide.
Although the lie was at first met with disbelief, it gradually began to infect the thoughts of Hometown’s residents like a plague. Susie can’t bring either of her companions back, but she can at least wipe the dust from Kris’ name, can’t she?

Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
