He huffs out a laugh as he speaks, pausing only for a brief drag of his cigarette, and he quirks a brow at the man beside him as he blows the smoke from the corner of his mouth. "What do you think of that? "
"I think," Atsushi replies, "that your place does in fact count as somewhere, and we are having a beer."

Atsushi has a little too much free time now that he’s essentially semi-retired. He doesn’t have too many good friends, at least enough to spend all his leisure time with, so he’s been trying to get out of the house more instead of staying in with his 3 cats, drinking wine and reading. He just can’t do that all day. Over time he’s picked up a few hobbies -cycling, yoga, calligraphy, solo karaoke, finding new hole-in-the-wall joints to enjoy some grub, visiting museums and exhibitions, the last of which has inspired him to pick up drawing, which he used to enjoy as a kid but never really had much time for in his adult life. He joins a beginner’s drawing course, with the class consisting of retirees, housewives and the odd university student. Atsushi himself was a bit of an outlier as a fifty-something year old man, but the instructor was just a few years his senior, so he didn’t feel so alone. And even if he did, he’s never minded being alone.
