Summary
An aspect of Sonic and Amy’s relationship that I’ve actually always really liked is whenever Sonic’s entirely caught off guard by Amy’s genuine affection.
I don’t mean whenever she’s physically affectionate, or whenever she exasperates him with her cheeky teasing because Sonic is more than well-adjusted and accepting of these behaviours. Rather, I mean whenever Amy slows down and does something to indicate or just tells him outright how much she loves him for him. The rarity of these moments, coupled with Sonic’s emotional privacy, tends to bring out rawer emotions like shock, bashfulness, and admiration. Moments like these are definitely more Sonic’s speed (ironically), and I feel this is why he’s more likely to show his reciprocation and “come around” (because he definitely is reciprocating, albeit not in the same way that Amy does). Sonic’s guard is struck down in these interactions, and his surprise and awe tend to speak for themselves.
This, to me, encompasses everything that makes Sonic and Amy's relationship special. This is my personal take on the relationship and the character bases from which I write my creative works.

Summary
A meta post listing and discussing every piece of evidence I could find in canon that Benedick Hobbes from NMTD and Lolilo has social anxiety disorder. This is cross-posted from tumblr, and was written before the Candle Wasters made Ben's anxiety Word-of-God canon. (Backdated work.)

Peter and Benedick both view themselves as the Shakespearean (Marlovian?) heroes of Lovely Little Losers. But who is really the tragic hero, and who is really the comic/romantic hero? How have these roles changed from NMTD to Lolilo? A meta-analysis cross-posted from Tumblr. (Backdated work.)

Greetings zep heads.
At the time of writing this essay I only have the one essay, but I may write more in the future. Here I will be analyzing the lyrics of Robert Plant through a queer lens. Specifically, we'll be considering the hypothesis that he's singing to Jimmy Page. It's not exactly a work of fiction, nor of nonfiction; it's my interpretation and theory about a series of canonical texts.

Heart of the Land, Conor and Worthy, and Trauma: A Deep Dive by Packleader

Before I begin, I need to preface this by saying that this is deeply personal. I was going through some serious shit when I read these books and I inadvertently ended up trauma-bonding with Conor. For my issues with the books to make sense, I'll need to explain some of my experiences, so here's your warning for:
Childhood bullies
The American foster system
Antisocial personality disorder (apd)
Anxiety
Discussions of severe trauma and its effects on kids
And a general warning for canon: war, canonical character death, and near-death experiences.I'll also touch on my problems with Devin Trunswick/Worthy, so I just need to clarify this now: I DO NOT HATE WORTHY'S CHARACTER. On the contrary, I find him to be one of the most compelling figures in the story. HOWEVER, I am going to talk about the shit he did to Conor in a not very nice way, as well as how I would have handled their conflict if I had written the books.
I need to reread the last half of Fall of the Beasts before I tackle some of the bigger overarching problems, so this will focus on Heart of the Land (my biggest issue with the entire series, as well as the point that most deeply affected me irl).

Murderbot and its complex and often violent relationship with chairs. by Rosewind2007

Summary
In the Murderbot Diaries chairs are often associated with negative emotional states (fear, jealousy, anger) and scenes of violence.
Yeah: weird.
This is a meta which happened sort of by accident because I was looking at MB and hair. One thing I can tell you is that MB really really liked Don Abene’s hair.
But back to chairs...
