Summary
Picking up almost exactly where we left off, this work is a sequel to my previous work, Together. JJ and Kiara are in college now. It's nothing but sun, surf, and school work in sunny California as they navigate their freshmen year together.
JJ is on the surf team and Kiara is beginning her degree in saving the world 101. They are free from parents and Kooks and supervision. Freedom like never before.
The only question is, will growing up make them grow apart? Or will they beat the odds and be together, forever?

“Fuck” He manages to get out in a whoosh of air before dragging in another haggard breath.
His knee is shaking violently enough to make his whole body tremble… or maybe he was already trembling? It’s hard to tell, his hands travel up his head until his fingers find their way into his hair, sticky with blood, or sweat, or both. He shoves his hands deep, gripping the roots and then closing his hand into a fist, tugging and twisting the hair with it.

He was the best brother to the Pogues, especially John B and Pope. John B did ask him to be Josie’s godfather, and he would have been amazing and taken his role very seriously. He absolutely was the King of Friendship, bound by love and loyalty, both running deep. A martyr, devoted beyond what anyone ever asked, until there was nothing left of him.
All these things are true. The words themselves are accurate.
But where were the words for her? Where were the words that told the world of his love for her?
