They were her only family, the only people who gave her a reason to live and exist happily and peacefully. She owed everything to them, especially her own life. That’s why she vowed to destroy herself once she dealt with the World Government, the even more horrid people that did this to her village, that forced her to do unimaginable things all because she was a useful asset made by Vegapunk. She was the last stain, the last memory of the World Government, and to eliminate them completely she needed to eliminate herself too in the end. The World Government called her a miracle. The people who suffered because of her called her a monster. Yes, it was a sunny day, a sunny day in her village now tainted with red and the smell of blood. She did this. Her existence did this. She… she is to blame for each and every one of their deaths.
Her presence truly brought destruction to all…

On the Great Eric, after successfully escaping Egghead, the huge fleet of marines, Kizaru, and the five elders. Luffy was on the table, munching on big grapes while moping about "Old-man-apple" or Vegapunk in front of the fruit bowls. Sanji knew that Vegapunk had accepted his fate and that he has a reason for it, just like the other vegapunks' sacrifices, but it was still a little shaking.
To Luffy, he had failed to keep a promise, and Sanji, despite all odds, take some of the blame for it. He was the one carrying Vegapunk, he was the one who failed to save him, and he... Well, he doesn't know why he's even blaming himself. He just couldn't help it. The flashbacks of Whole Cake still crawled beneath his skin, and seeing Luffy like this had always made him feel extra uneasy.
Luffy helped treat that hurt by a conversation that eventually turned into fucking the thoughts out of him.

Plus there’s competition in the weapons trade.” Law folded the paper up, taking a deep breath. “We’re not doing anything else right now. After the Polar Tang is fixed up, we’ve got no plans. Fucking with the world nobles is right up our alley.”

“Shishishi!” With one last swallow, the fruit of Shanks’s labor (literally!) disappeared, stem and all. A red gleam of the eyes and a white shine to his hair swept over Luffy’s visage like mist, and disappeared just as suddenly. “My ultimate move! Gum Gum Bounce Back!”
The World Government hid the fact that the Gum Gum Fruit was actually the Human Human Fruit, Model: Nika and with it, the fruit’s powers to warp the world around its user. However, not even Imu and the Elders themselves knew that its user could gain the ability to bend space and time.
Monkey D. Luffy’s imagination and thus, his potential, were limitless. He aimed to be the freest man on the seas, so why not the freest man on the timeline as well?
