The fragrant perfume of wyvern tails wafts hauntingly as he sees Dion there before him once more, bathed in golden light, whole and healed. He should have stayed among the flowers, to let the rising tide take him, and the seabirds his bones.

“Let them,” he growled back. He spun them, pressing her against the wall as his fingers and thumb pressed against her jaw, the heel of his hand resting against her throat. She wrapped her own fingers around his wrist as she tried to keep up with his ferocity.
