Summary
It’s odd how a situation can so drastically shift in a matter of seconds. One moment he’s reaching toward a wailing child, attempting to console them, the next he’s tumbling to the ground, alone in an abandoned street, the sky black above him. After surveying his surroundings, he gets a general idea of where he is, as well as the realization that the child he’d just been with was nowhere to be found and had, most likely, accidentally used their quirk on him. Must be some kind of teleportation quirk too.

“…...What are you doing here?” Hawks eventually asks, breaking the silence. Tokoyami frowns at him.
“I’m here to visit you.”
“Why?”
“…...Because I was worried about you?” Tokoyami gives him a puzzled look that somehow grinds Hawks’ nerves the wrong way. “Why else do people visit hospitals?”Hawks is bedridden in the hospital after the devastating results of the PLF raid. He doesn’t receive many visitors aside from the hospital staff and the Hero Commission, which is understandable. No one came out unscathed. But a few days into watching the boring sitcom on the depressingly small TV, he receives a surprising visitor in the form of Tokoyami.

Rumi laughs, slapping the counter once as she stands up and starts heading for the back room. “I’ll get started on restocking the shelves. You better have my reward ready when I’m done, Honeynut.”
“Roger that, Macchiato.”
University students Takami Keigo and Usagiyama Rumi have known each other since they were in elementary. Their friendship lasted through all their fights and hardships, and still holds strong as they struggle to transition into adulthood. The room is quiet and peaceful until it’s broken by a low murmur from its only occupant reading something on his phone.
“You fucked up the spreadsheets again , Rocket,” Hawks hisses, frown on his face as he types something rapidly on his phone. His fingers are quick and practiced, giving away Hawks’ familiarity with the device. “I’m so gonna rib you when you come in for work today.”
Hawks’ drab but busy routine in the morning is reflective of his meticulous nature as he prepares for the day at the same speed he’s known for. (ft. excessive use of feathers, business calls while cooking breakfast, checking weather for flight conditions, and arguments with his sidekick about Tokoyami.)
