Summary
Sam and Iain come to the aid of a young girl found collapsed in the street. Nobody knows who she is or where her family are. The girl is brought into the Emergency Department in a critical condition but the team manage to save her life and with the help of Doctor Petrenko, discover that she has a complex heart condition. With the wards all under too much strain to admit another patient, the team have no choice but to care for the child in the department. Her condition slowly begins to stabilise, however further complications arise when the only response anyone can salvage from her are devastating meltdowns.
Alicia is slowly coming to terms with her ordeal and is starting to get back to her old self but the admission of this mysterious little girl in great distress unsettles her and threatens to dig up the memories she has worked so hard to forget. She is put under further stress when her mother turns up questioning why Alicia has not been in contact for weeks. Against all odds, Alicia refuses to let her ordeal define her and strikes up an incredible bond with the girl, helping her through the fight of her life.
