“There’s a body in the garden.”
The words were spoken calmly, while Bucky kept his eyes locked onto the gangly form prostrate in the dirt outside. When he’d spotted it in a casual pass of the window, he’d experienced shock for all of half a second before he’d quickly transitioned into acceptance and wariness.
He stepped back from the window as Steve rushed up, a damp blue dish towel in his hands. Steve’s eyes immediately narrowed in on the form that was face down by the tomato plants. It was a good sign that Bucky wasn’t hallucinating, and a bad sign in that it meant the corpse in the garden was real.
Steve gave Bucky a look, the corners of his mouth sternly downturned.
“I didn’t put it there,” Bucky said, just in case that was in question.

A mostly-dead Loki shows up face-planted in Bucky’s garden one day while Steve’s over for lunch. (Throws Infinity War/Endgame deaths and other parts of canon out the window.)

Sam wants to agree, wants to snip back with a similarly biting 'that exactly what I was going to say.' because truly, Sam's life would be a lot better if Bucky learnt to shut the fuck up. She doesn't say that, she doesn't say anything at all really. Sam doesn't know what she could have that would make her train wreck of a life feel even slightly better, she can't think of one thing. Not getting the shield back, or stopping the flag smashers, not Steve coming back from the dead, not getting enough money to keep her family's boat, not Barnes fucking off to the most remote corners of the earth, nothing. In Sam's miracle, she does not see herself waking up and that causes a fear to push itself up against all her anger.

When they hear about the Cryo-tank found in an old Hydra Base, and the little boy in it, Bucky‘s world is uprooted. Steve immediately wants to adopt the little guy, but how could Bucky ask him to bring another traumatized assassin super soldier into his apartment.
Kiril meets the man he‘s been watching since 1948, and his husband.
Steve falls in love with another victim of Hydra. Bucky becomes a dad.
Kiril finds out what normal kid-things are and turns to chess and murder mysteries in 16 languages. Protective Stevie picks fights with teachers. Bucky uses his therapy skills. Kiril is clueless.
Includes one judgmental cat, a therapy dog, a Protective Steve, an Overwhelmed Bucky, one kid with a staring problem and a lot of problems. -
