For the third time in the last three minutes, when the light came on, it was his uncle and his cousin who were standing in the doorway.
His uncle looked the same. His cousin did not. His cousin locked eyes with him immediately, and Felix saw it just before it was hidden: an anxious look in his cousin’s eyes.
His cousin remembered.

“You won't. My precious boy, you won't.” She tilts his chin up with long, diaphanous fingers. “Isn't this what you want? Tell me this is what you want.”

Ladybug doesn’t take her eyes off of him as she takes all of that in. “You’re suggesting that we keep choosing you. That we eventually trust you enough to give your past self an extremely important Miraculous.”
“That about sums it up. But if you want me to be specific,” his eyes flicker over to Chat Noir, “He’s the one who chooses me. Over and over again.”
Chat Noir blinks. “I do?”
“You do.” Kronos has an unreadable look in his eye. “And I hope to prove myself to you that you can keep trusting me.”
(Or Félix visits unexpectedly the day his father dies, then vanishes off the face of the Earth after. Many months later, Chat Noir meets Kronos, the Rabbit Miraculous Holder. Unknowest to him, these two things are related.)

Their eternal problem: Mirzam. No one, not even the Guardian, knows what to do with that guy.
Hawkmoth may have a pattern, but his colleague is much smarter than that: he creates illusions big and small, quiet and loud, mundane and flashy enough to trigger a seizure. One minute he's off the field, safely tucked behind a chimney or a gargoyle; the next he's in the throes of battle, unafraid to dance around a cataclysm. And some days, he isn't there at all.
Those days are probably the worst.
“It's a very smart use of Trixx's power! Unlike anything I've ever seen, and I've been around a looot of Foxes.” Tikki floats up and down like a petal in the wind. “It says something about Hawkmoth that they keep losing anyway.”
“Hey, don't go switching sides on me.” Alya is teasing, but is she really? “Mirzam loves surprises, but… I don't think he was too fond of the one he got yesterday.”
“Right. The intruder.” Plagg swallows the rest of his cheese in one go. “Let's talk about that.”

Argos shrugged, watching the second hand. “Not sure if I should.”
Chat Noir leaned back on his hands. It was a full moon, and the light shone onto the stopwatch. “But … you could undo everything. Save people. Rewrite it all.”
Quietly, almost to himself, Argos replied, “I know.”
He watched Argos’s eyes. Thought about that — turning back time. It had never worked in the past, but the past was in the past. Maybe he could be in the past, too, fighting with Ladybug and saving his father instead of giving up his miraculous like a coward.
All he needed was to get the watch.

Summary
There’s a moment where Adrien wonders if he even knows. But then that idea shatters as suddenly all the questions he’s had fit together. The Peacock Miraculous— his obsession to get it and the lengths he went through to reach it. A hollow laugh leaves Adrien as he shakes his head and feels like the biggest fool in the world.
“Peacock Miraculous…” Adrien mumbles to himself. There’s a brief flicker of alarm in Félix’s eyes that he catches. It only solidifies what he suspects. “You… You were willing to do whatever it took to get it…”
“Adrien—” Félix begins but Adrien can’t stop himself. That open wound in his chest is still bleeding, aching, making his hands tremble all over again.
“You died.” Adrien blurts out and Félix’s mouth snaps shut. “Fifteen loops total. You died in the tenth one.” His throat burns. He knows saying it out loud will cause the flames to scorch his throat entirely but maybe it’ll get rid of the smoke trapped there too. And in the end, Adrien just wants to relieve the suffocating force trapped inside him.
(Or Aspik gets an encore. Argos has to explain a few things his cousin witnessed during one of the loops.)

The possibility ran through him that maybe this was not an akuma — but he’d seen enough of the sort to know that it was. It was just acting a bit differently than the rest.
Then it jumped, looking suddenly startled by something, and flew quickly indoors.
Felix watched it. It was centimetres from his face. And still, it hovered. Still, it hesitated. And then it recoiled, looking frightened.
How it entered his system, he could not say, for it was a blur of purple lightning and suddenly it was there.
He staggered back, bracing for the worst.
“Felix…?”
The voice was broken. He recognised it immediately.
