Summary
The seventeenth victim was supposed to stay dead.
When Batman arrives at Gotham General’s morgue to investigate a string of ritualistic murders, he finds a Jane Doe on an autopsy table with strange markings carved into her body and no traceable identity in any database.
Then she takes a breath.
What follows drags Batman into something far older and more dangerous than a serial killer haunting Gotham’s streets. The woman who should be dead escapes him before sunrise, leaving behind impossible evidence, unanswered questions, and a city that seems to remember her in places it shouldn’t.
As the bodies pile up, Batman finds himself pursuing the only witness who may know the truth.
Unfortunately for him, she is infuriatingly difficult to catch.

And though Big Blue and resident Spooky had been a thing for a while now—no one but Diana had really gotten used to it. Hal does consider that perhaps this new development would be easier to get used to, if half his and everyone else's time wasn't greedily preoccupied by the various twenty five year olds that trigger the doors to the dining area open, just to NOT get in. In preference of “subtly” peeking at whatever league member they've attached to for the next foreseeable three months, before fleeing away when the door mechanisms slide shut again.
Only one type of junior recruit actually has the courage to cross through the door's threshold and confess their infatuations—
The doors herald someone's entrance with a pneumatic hiss—a junior recruit holding a grotesquely large and obscenely ribboned box of chocolates in his hands. He needs both hands to hold it. Throwing half assed greetings over his shoulder made tolerable by his genuine smile. A smile that trembles everytime it involuntarily falters or flares against his will—like he's physically restraining himself from outright grinning like a lovesick fool.

Just as Superman stops talking, the door to the meeting room opens. Everyone turns to the door. Staring wide eyed at little Dick Grayson, in pajamas and a domino. Sniffling and hiccuping. Nobody moved for a second. Nobody knows what to do with the mystery child that just materialized in the Watchtower. Bruce is so damn grateful their first reaction wasn't violence.
In an instant he is on his feet and dashing past his teammates with speed that rivals The Flash. When he kneels he skids to a stop and nearly barrels Dick over but he reaches out and grips the boys shoulders to steady him.
“Robin.”
Or - Dick has a nightmare and goes to find his dad.
