    “Scoliosis at seventeen.” Nico’s tone was droll. “How’s it feel?”

Sunburst spends his days chasing after the Ghost King, cursing the Ghost King for making him skip school to go defend the city, and bickering with the Ghost King. Will Solace is sure that he's going to be the one to finally get the bounty for the Ghost King.

    I scoot over in the dirt and brush away the twigs and rocks next to me to make a place for him to sit. If I can't convince him to come over here, I might never get to repay that debt; I'll be thinking about him for the rest of my life.

    "Here's a spot for you," I say as I smile at the darkness. "So...if you get cold, you can always come here."

    I hear a soft laugh at that. Probably he's laughing about the fact that I still haven't given up on trying to get him to sit near me. I can't help it; I'm so scared that he's going to leave me alone out here. I don't think I can stand to be alone right now.

      This fanfic is js SO INCREDIBLE. If I were to get to decide to adapt one fanfic into a movie or musical or smth it would be this one. The characters, the themes, the over-arching story line, it's one of my fav examples of how fanfiction can be js as good, if not BETTER than published fiction – not that it needs to be / should be a competition. Also, I read this on Wattpad and there was a linked original book at the end that I LOVE. If that ever gets published I'm telling everyone it's my fav book (plus I can more openly advertise my fav author! Ik they've written other stuff but I haven't read it yet..) 💛🖤
