Summary
Peter can't define who he is. He's been a son, a brother, a friend, a nephew. He's seen what he could be. A soldier. A hero. But Peter Parker can't for the sake of his life define who he is. What do you call a kid who's endured so much, he can't even remember where he belongs?
The only truth Peter is sure of, is that he does not belong here. But as he gets to share the danger in his life and embraces the protectiveness of the people around him, Peter Parker is beginning to understand something.
He had promised it would stop hurting. And that only happens when he finally learns to let go.
--
Peter Parker dies (emotionally)—a lot. Until he dies for real and enters a blank space of memories that are not exactly his, but he seems to feel them as if they were. Suddenly, one of those far tales turns into his reality when he makes a promise. Peter makes a life, unaware of those who try to take it away from him.
