Summary
Since as early as he can remember, Tom Riddle has been stalked by a monster.
The man wears different faces and different names, but he always watches Tom with judgemental green eyes. The power he flaunts is immense, his threats are terrifying, and no matter where Tom goes, he cannot escape him.
His stalker is a madman, sometimes begging Tom to be good, sometimes debating aloud whether to kill him.
Tom has no idea why this is his life, but he's determined to do anything possible to survive.

Killing Batman is all but impossible as he is now. Killing Batman before he becomes Batman, while slightly easier, still seems doomed to failure. You can't stop Batman by causing more tragedy.
. . . But maybe by stopping a tragedy, you can stop Batman from being conceived in the first place.

“And why come here, of all places?” the elder asked.
Time held the woman’s gaze as he answered. “A wise friend once told me there are always answers in Kakariko.”
The elder watched him for a moment, looked him up and down; then, she laughed.

"The princess and her knight?”Time nodded. “I’ve met them once before, and they seemed less than cordial to each other. I wondered if perhaps I just met them at the wrong time.”

“No… I… but there was…” Time was still disoriented from the sudden time shift, but his half-started sentences petered out as he met the rancher’s worried gaze. “Sorry. I was… lost in my head for a moment. I’m alright now.”

Time’s jaw dropped. A moment, a week, and a century ago, Time had wished he could do something, no matter how small, that would make a difference. Maybe he had, because even though Link may have forgotten, Wild remembered. The day they met in the woods and the afternoon spent sparring on the hillside were lost, but not all of their moments together had suffered the same fate.Maybe, just maybe, Time had managed to help Link after all.

Twilight turned to him with some mixed-up emotion on his face, but the rest of the boys seemed to pause and consider the name.“That’s good, old man,” Wild said. “How’d you come up with that one?”
“I don’t know,” Time said with a smile. He placed a hand on Wild’s shoulder and squeezed. “Something about it just felt right.”
