This fic is designed as a bridge after Black Widow partnered on missions with the Winter Soldier, through her tenure at S.H.I.E.L.D, & including MCU’s 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.' For those following my fics, this is a narrative one-off after my Wolves At the Door series, just before the anticipated events of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and a prequel to 'Captain America: Civil War'. (But you don't need to have read that to enjoy this!)
In this fic, I touch on Peggy Carter & the SSR, and include many other MCU references. Cameos from many in 'Agents of SHIELD.'
Folks wanting to jump right into the events of CA:TWS can go to Chapter 17.

Each chapter of this story is a separate, self-contained BuckyNat reunion subplot for insertion into Avengers: Infinity War. I’m focusing here on reveals that aren’t a major plot point, so 1-3 minutes of screentime total.
This format is experimental for me. As stories, these are incomplete by their very nature, and are set in unpolished contexts. I can’t write a dozen different Infinity War plots - at least not this month! Think of these as footage from movies that-could-be... jumping off points to hold on to while we wait. Feel free to savor and expand upon any way you like.

Summary
Thousands of years ago, the Jotun came to Midgard. Certain of a Jotun victory, Laufey brought with him his wife and infant son. However, the Aesir triumphed and in the resulting chaotic retreat, the boy was lost.
