Tom recognized him vaguely—while transfer students were not necessarily uncommon due to the war, they were rare enough to at least make an impression. This particular transfer student was in his year, sorted into Ravenclaw after an impressively long hat stall. He looked like he might be descended from the Potter line, but he did not share the surname so his lineage was of no particular interest to Tom. Nothing about him was of particular interest to Tom, in fact, and yet here he stood, holding the book that Tom had come here to find.
It would be a good time to turn away. The Restricted Section was restricted for a reason—only books documenting extremely dangerous or extremely advanced magic were stored here.
Tom’s feet, however, suddenly felt as if they were made of lead. It wasn’t magic keeping him tied down, but something far more mysterious like curiosity or even fate. In any case, the delay was all it took for the Ravenclaw to lift his chin and meet Tom’s eyes.
This Ravenclaw, Tom realized, had eyes as blindingly green as the Killing Curse.

Summary
Odysseus never made it back to Ithaca. And that was the cruel truth the Gods had to live with, with no body to bury, soul to guide, or life to judge, Odysseus had practically disappeared into the ocean, and yet Poseidon claimed no wrong doing, which infuriated Athena.
A legend unfulfilled, a lesson never learned, a story with no ending. And that had been the truth for centuries, a truth that stood in the corner of Olympus’ mind, wars had come and gone, humans became less dependent, and Greece found herself locked in a standstill. With the resolution being at the end of the 2nd World War, the Three Kings made a pact to never sire another human demigod again.
Hades lost his children to fear.
Zeus lost his daughter to fate.
Poseidon met Sally Jackson, and their small union had birthed a son that came too early into the world, what seemed to be bad omen soon escalated as monsters returned, demigod casualties increased tenfold, and in Greece, the darkest of voids stirred.
A story with no ending is a story put on hold, and while Perseus Jackson has simple wants, life was never so easy, and ignorance can only be so long, your time has run out lost king, where have you been all these years?

Summary
The beginning of this is a developing relationship between Charon and Hermes. Then there's a chunk of Hermes trying to find a way to talk to Charon, which, crucially, doesn't involve actually talking to Charon. Then Hermes gets cursed and Charon has to ferry him to the bottom of the Underworld to fix it.
There's also a lot of Hermes interacting with other characters. And a dream sequence! It's fun, I promise.The death/suicide tags are references to mortals. It mentions their lives and death, but it's not discussed in great detail. Just a few sentences.
"The Boatman still didn't really attempt to communicate with Hermes that much, but he was greeting him and nodding along once in a while. And sometimes, when they were exchanging coin, the tips of Charon's fingers would touch Hermes' palms.
That's all Hermes wanted, really. A little bit of courtesy and recognition and… fingertips."
