“And you’re sure this is fine?” Wille grips Simon’s hand a little tighter. Their thick mittens don’t allow for nearly enough precision while holding hands, but Wille wants to make this work anyways. Least of all because he gets to do this now, hold Simon’s hand in public. He gets to tug him along the rink by his hand, just like the other couples are doing it. Letting go of Simon’s hand would be a waste of a perfectly good opportunity to show off the fact that, unlike last Christmas, he’s very happily in love and being loved back, very publicly and like it’s the most natural thing.
Simon furrows his brows at Wille and lifts his chin in a motion that almost feels a little too defiant for the simple question.
“Told you,” he says, not without a bit of an edge, and Wille gets a little lost in watching the little cloud of his breath puff out above the scarf Wille wrapped around him earlier. “I just need a few more minutes to get back into it. I used to be really good at this.”Or: Wille takes Simon ice skating. Simon isn't very enthusiastic.
