Ryland Grace, the world’s leading Astrophage scientist, also so happened to be voluntold because of this. Looks like they’re both saving the world and dying together. Like Brothers.

He wore black jeans and a matching long-sleeved scrub top, and his sneakers sat neatly beside him. A gold and red striped beanie and Hello-Kitty themed sunglasses completed his attire. If Steve hadn’t been familiar with Tony’s unique mannerisms, he wouldn’t have recognized him.
As he studied the older man more closely, he also noticed that the sleeve of Tony’s left arm was pushed up to reveal thick plastic tubing snaking its way from his bicep toward a large bag filled with clear liquid that appeared to be saline. The bag dripped steadily into the line and hung from a tall IV pole that cast an ominous shadow over Tony's lap as he sat there, seemingly ignoring it completely as he mimed tossing an object in a manner similar to how Steve threw his shield.-

It doesn't take long for things to turn from bad to worse as the euphoria of total obedience leaves Leo wondering why he ever fought back against Master Shredder in the first place.

When I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain...James and Manny were brought up on stories. Stories and music and sex and other things, but it was the stories that stuck. Stories of the lost past, just before they were born. Stories of fantasy, of the future – or at least what could have been the future, once. But stories... Stories are always in the eye of the beholder. The meanings and the characters are always what you make of them, and not always quite what you expect.
Archie's story just doesn't make sense. And worse, its implications – and the emphasis that other people give them – leave James questioning every fact and lesson he thought he knew of his own story. The one that he and Jake and Manny wrote together. But they can't tell that story anymore; the final chapter ended a long time ago. Except, of course, when they can – James just needs to work out exactly when that is, and remember just who the author was in the first place.
A sequel to the story Solstice, and a mystery as much of the self and society as of how Angelika Wojnowski came to die, and what Archie Stephens had to do with it.
