"First VIII Whipping Boy" recounts the heady and unusual fictional experiences of a Eton College first VIII 8th-position American born oarsman, Stevenson, in his personal as well as his team's quest to win the highest rated school boy crew race of any such school boy oarsman's (or coxswain's) school boy career, the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at the Royal Henley Regatta upon his final school career year at Eton College. How the unusual and unconventional administration of a senior-sized rattan cane forwarded Stevenson's cause. The text is also a valuable primer to help to understand all things Eton College as well as an extra recounting of a real live Eton Collge first VIII coxswain's experiences in 2008, that of Freddy Foks. The story is one of three of a series called "Three Stories of the First VIII." The overall collection that includes "Three Stories" is "Tales From Eton College."
