"There are things about my mom I could never really explain. It's not like I didn't see her contradictions, I just chose to ignore them. I never knew if everybody else ignored them too or if they just didn't see them. When mom took me down to help her in the lab, I always felt so dependable. Not many kids can be trusted to hold a life in their hands like this. I took it very seriously. This was a great responsibility.
