Summary
The first time Jake says it, it’s an accident.
It’s Bradley’s fault, really. It’d always been a secret Jake held onto so tight, but Bradley brings it bubbling to the surface. He pulls Jake into his orbit. He’s smooth. He’s overly sure of himself. He’ll appear to be completely uninterested one minute, to looking like he wants to devour Jake the next. And he has soft edges. He’ll say the filthiest shit in bed, and then call Jake his baby, his sweetheart. It’s no wonder the word slips out.

Summary
When Jake Seresin is peer pressured into taking a last minute vacation, he certainly doesn’t expect Bradley Bradshaw to tag along. He also doesn’t expect to discover that his hotel is a hotspot for newlyweds. Nothing, however, could be more unexpected than finding himself on a fake honeymoon with his coworker, who just so happens to be inconveniently attractive.
OR
Bradley convinces Jake to fake a marriage for a fruit platter (and other reasons).

Summary
The comedy show had been Maverick's suggestion, when he'd heard Fritz wondering out loud why they never found anything better to do in the evenings than hang out in the same bar. Some comedian he's seen before, or something, and Jake hadn't bothered looking into it, but Halo said she'd found some clips of the guy on YouTube and he seemed pretty funny. Jake's not really concerned about the comedy; he just likes the change of pace.
So, sure: twelve fighter pilots walk into a comedy club. Jake's still figuring out the punchline.
or; Jake can't believe that he's attracted to this guy: mullet, mustache, microphone. But you know what? At least he's funny.

Summary
“Where does this leave us?” Bradley asks eventually.
Jake snorts. “In what way?”
Bradley shrugs. “I don’t know. Emotionally, physically. Legally.”
Jake thinks he might be dizzy. He hasn’t drunk that much tonight, but he has been wondering about the answers to that question for a long time. Finally talking about it…it barely even feels real. “Let’s start with the last one,” he says. “That sounds like the easiest part.”
“Well,” Bradley says gamely. “Legally speaking, I think we’re, like, one piece of paper away from being married.”

Summary
It’s hard to tell who actually walks into who, but if there’s one thing Bradley does soon become certain of, it’s that it isn’t his drink that sloshes all over the front of his shirt when he collides with the person standing in front of him.
Bradley groans and takes a reflexive step back while the damage is still soaking in. “Fuck.”
The person in front of him seems to share a similar sentiment. “Oh, shit.”
“What the hell, man?” Bradley gingerly pinches the front of his now sopping-wet shirt between two fingers and unsticks it from his chest.
Great. So much for a carefree night out.
“You think I just wasted the rest of my drink on purpose?”

Summary
Whatever truce he and Hangman might’ve temporarily made on the beach still wasn’t enough for Bradley to want to hang out with the guy in his free time.
Except, here he is with the Bronco pulled into one of the spaces that line the stretch of sidewalk beside Hangman’s house. He can see Hangman’s truck sitting in the driveway and the light for the living room turned on inside.
Hangman is here, and so is Bradley. For what exactly, he isn’t sure. He knows he’s searching for something. An answer, maybe. Figuring that out would require thinking, which isn’t what this is supposed to be about, but the uncertainty must show on his face. Hangman opens the door without him even having to knock, eyebrows raised and the obvious question quick to come.
“What are you doing here, Bradshaw?”

If Hangman wants to blow off steam before the mission, as stupid as it is to do it here where anyone could stumble onto them, Bradley’s game. What’s one more badly thought out and impulsive decision in a long line of them?

Summary
The first time Jake tried to get his Sunday morning coffee and found none other than Rooster at the best table by the window, he could have believed it was happenstance.
The second, sure, it could have been a coincidence.
The third time, though, was when he started to consider that it might be enemy action.

Summary
“You scared the hell outta me.” He finally rasped.
A barely there, knowing smile tugged at Jake's mouth. Firelight caught along his sharp cheekbones, then traced down his bobbing throat and shoulders.
“You came for me.” Jake slurred, words heavy with exhaustion.
A broken chuckle caught in Bradley's throat— his fingers curled behind Jake's neck, holding him there.
“'Course I did.”

Summary
The scrape of a chair startles Bradley, and he looks up just as some guy drags a chair over to their table and takes a seat right next to Haley. She tips her head toward him. “This is my roommate’s brother. My backup.”
“In case you decide to be an asshole about this whole thing,” the guy says. His sprawl is casual, but his eyes are sharp as they rove over Bradley. His hackles are up for sure—one wrong move, and Bradley’s probably getting frog-marched out of here.
“It’s fine, Jake,” Haley says. “I told you, Bradley’s a nice guy.”
The guy—Jake—rolls his eyes. “Well, excuse me if I don’t have a lot of faith in some asshole who fucked you and then didn’t call.”
Bradley leans forward, his eyes narrowing. What the hell, where does this guy get off pretending like he knows anything about this situation?
