Summary
Drifter made a promise, to help Roathe regain his memories. It's proving harder than he expected, but that's almost comfortingly familiar when it comes to his life. All he needs to do is throw himself at the problem, again and again and again. No matter how many times it takes and what it does to him. Or how many times he falls in the attempt. Because he knows it should be him that falls, rather than the ones he cares about.
That's his job after all. He's the one who dies.

Summary

Summary
Roathe had a type; he understood this. He did not hold it against Drifter, all the little ways they reminded him of Nitokh. These were things he adored about them, just as they had been things he adored about her. Things that made them so compatible in the first place. And they were utterly different in the ways that mattered. At least, that's how he felt until the first time they introduced violence to their intimacy. And the sex was great, don't get him wrong, the sex was fantastic - what was not fantastic was how they left him feeling used and abandoned afterwards. Just like she always did.
