    Harry meets Peter at four and a half (four and three-quarters, Harry insists, because adults always tell him he’ll understand things when he’s older, but he’s old enough for it to be annoying). Harry’s playing in the sandbox at Oscorp’s daycare (kinetic sand, actually, because what’s the point in being a cutting-edge, fortune 500 company if you don’t have the newest stuff) and Gregory Haskins stomps on his sand castle. Harry’s eyes fill with tears of frustration as Gregory laughs and steals the Tonka truck out of the sand, but before he gets the chance to wail, Peter is there.

    Peter has a mop of soft, chestnut curls, and kind, brown eyes. He has dimples in his cheeks when he smiles, ever so gently, like Harry is a baby deer he’s afraid of spooking, and Harry blinks at him, surprised.

    Or, what starts off as everyone wrongly thinking Johnny's dating Spidey eventually leads to Johnny actually dating Spidey but pretending he isn't because he doesn't want to give his family the satisfaction of knowing they were right.

    “You really aren’t going to admit that you’re dating him, are you?” Sue says incredulously. She taps her finger against that very incriminating photo in the tabloid. “You’re kissing him, baby brother, right here.”

    “Kissing? Spidey? Me? I would never,” Johnny scoffs, right as he finishes making a date to meet Spidey later that night. “Not in a million years. I am way out of his league. I’m so far above him he can’t even see me.”

    Spidey’s going to see plenty of Johnny later tonight, but Sue doesn’t need to know anything about that.

    “Are you serious?” Johnny asks, anger and lust shimmering under his skin. Anger that Parker can be so presumptuous, but lust over the fact that yeah, Johnny really did want Parker to continue.

    But maybe there's more to Johnny than Peter initially thought. Maybe he's not just an egotistical celebrity, or a short-tempered hothead, or an alarmingly pretty face who makes Peter's pulse race. Maybe they have more in common than they realize.

    Non-spoiler thoughts: i absolutely ADORE author’s take on the spideytorch dynamic and would give my soul to see the process that took place in arranging and producing this story to be the story it is as is—i mean seriously? they NAILED the character development, character dynamics, individual character perspectives + characteristics, the whole wilson fisk plot, pacing, etc. i LOVE/D every aspect of this!! the writing and dialogue had me gagged every step of the way,, like seriously when i say this had everything i could ever ask for, executed exceptionally well, AND in just the right amounts (not too little or too much of anything) I MEAN IT! The rivalry, the chemistry, the misunderstandings, the development, EVERYTHING? it just hit so good. i just- idk if i’m explaining myself well enough here but. guys. GUYS! i cant TT

    SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!

    despite the fact this is an incomplete work—ts HITS. I would give anything to see how the author would’ve taken the story after the 12th. spideytorch are together & they’re adorable, secrets are slowly bubbling to the surface & sue is finally seeing firsthand exactly what it is spider-man warned her and johnny fisk is capable of, tony stark is the perfect amount of “overbearing” parental figure that is true to his character as a protective son of a bitch when it comes to his people, reed richards being the nerdy little awkward supportive sap of a brother in law he JUST IS, ned leeds is a good bro and deserves all the rare & exclusive f4+avengers memorabilia/merch and lifetime access to johnny’s cooking—which btw YES JOHNNY STORM IS AN AMAZING COOK AND ANYONE THAT SAYS OTHERWISE IS A PUSSY!!, and god yes i love this fic so much it hits in all the right places and i would do anything to see this as a completed work <33 (i have sm more to say but these specific details have me gripped for more)
