“I’m tired, John,” He murmurs. Barely a whisper. John swallows, feeling irrationally helpless.
“I can see that,” He responds quietly, tracing an eyebrow with the pad of his thumb. “Sleep, then,” He can hear the crack in his own voice—a perfect match for the one in his chest. He hopes that Sherlock won’t notice, won’t try to pick it all apart.
“Not what I meant,” He rumbles, as he drifts off and away, leaving John alone in wakefulness to wonder what the hell had just happened.

Baelor makes the decision to wed Maekar to him after his sons and wife die during the Great Spring Sickness and Baelor assumes the throne. It would be easier if they had spoken since the tournament at Ashford. It would be easier if Maekar had not been in love with him since they were boys.

"He and Matarys, joined a few days ago by the currently-reigning prince of Dragonstone in his father's abscence, Valarr, are in Summerhall, having been sent there by Daeron II's own royal decree, until further notice. Which will be either when the maesters declare Baelor fully recovered and ready to return to King's Landing — which will be not very soon, if Baelor has anything to say about it — or when Maekar gets pissed off enough and throws all three of them (or maybe just Baelor, seeing as he has absolutely no malice against either of his nephews) outside of the walls — which is significantly more likely to happen."
Maekar's silence always comes to a point. Baelor might not be able to wait for it.
