Evidently, for Maomao to realize that her "lukewarm water" is actually scalding hot, something extraordinary has to happen. And so, it did.

Odd, how one could rarely feel things changing until long after the changing was done.Several moments of introspection, featuring Maomao wrestling with the diagnosis of foreign emotions.

"What an interesting dream, sir." She said, raising an eyebrow.
Jinshi frowned at her for a second, only then remembering where they were and what exactly Maomao was wearing. He felt his face burn.
"I-I never had this dream before, I swear!" He stammered.
"I was surprised to wake up in exactly the same robes the courtesans offered to you at that time were wearing. I didn't think you would remember, as you claimed you were uninterested in them." She said blandly, as if he hadn't spoken. "You have an excellent memory, sir."
"Please stop calling me 'sir'." He begged, aware his face was still flushed.
"As you wish, Master Jinshi."
In another experiment with the incense burner, Jinshi and Maomao find themselves in a familiar scene in the Verdigris House. They take advantage.
