Summary
Grimmel the Grisly had been training his daughter to be a dragon killer as soon as she left the womb of her poor mother.
He made her watch—every time he killed another night fury, forced her to listen to their cries.
"Killing night furies is my legacy, and so it shall be yours, too—in time"
But when she was of the age of seven, an opportunity arose. Her father had caught another nightfury, a young female. When Agorra's father killed it, he didn't bother to take a look under its wings, and when Agorra came to grief for its life—as she had always done for every dragon that fell victim to her father's fury. Two little shadows crept from underneath her wing, clutching each other tight.
Little Agorra knew then, that she could not fail them.
