The half-arsed derision in his tone doesn’t seem to surprise or intimidate Remus. He only smiles, knowing.

I will forever love when people don’t forget that Sirius is a black. As much as he’d like to not be like that, it’s all he knows. Sirius is a dickhead, but he doesn’t want to be, and that, is how he goes from absolute asshole to Padfoot. It takes time, a lot of it, but I think in the end he overcomes it. (Before Azkaban…) also I hate it when people make sirius super toxic and just make remus deal with it, like no, you have to put in effort into being a better person because if not then you're on your own
