There was a growing relationship between the two of you, before Ryland was forcefully placed onto the Hail Mary, leaving behind more than just you and your potential relationship, but a daughter that had been a surprise. Could you figure out the superluminal speed drive to bring him home before any more time passed?

    This will progress from his time on the Hail Mary and his past memory recollections, to his time on Erid (briefly), until eventually we get to his time back on Earth.

    It’s been nearly 27 years since Eva Stratt forced Ryland Grace to board the Hail Mary and sent him off to his death for the greater good of mankind. Meanwhile, Eva and the Project Hail Mary team have been fighting a losing battle against the cooling sun—and their own demons—trying to make sure there were still people to be saved by the time the crew could send a solution home. Right on schedule, the beetles are returning to Earth, hopefully with the answer to saving the world.     It had been a long and difficult 27 years since the Hail Mary had launched. Not as terrible as it could have been, but not easy. Humanity had survived and adapted, as it always did. There had been terrible wars. There had been incredible acts of kindness. There had been massive scientific breakthroughs. And now, there were two distant blips of Petrova-light, picked up by the Deep Space Network, hurtling home. Two probes, braking hard as they hurtled toward Earth holding the secrets to its salvation. They were late, or at least, not very early, but they were here.

    Grace may have made his peace with dying to save Rocky, but Rocky insists they return to Earth.
