    Zoey is the newest hire at Sunlight Entertainment: a bright-eyed accountant with a shiny degree and a bold presence. And, only a month after she joined the company, she's been called in to talk to her boss's boss, CEO Ryu Rumi, about what she can only assume is the imminent loss of her job. Zoey worked too hard to lose her position so quickly, though, and Rumi is really hot and clearly checking her out... so the decision is obvious: she's more than willing to seduce her CEO to keep her job.

    This is what happened: years ago, Mira and Zoey had someone, and then they lost her.

    It happens, sometimes.

    People disappear.

    But years ago, Mira and Zoey had someone, and then they lost her. Then, they thought that they might have found her again – because Rumi was everything they once had, because she was the third hunter, because her soul was bound to theirs like they were to each other.

    They never asked, in the end.

    What had happened that made the other woman slip away like she did.

    But it never did feel completely right, after, despite everything. Because Rumi was there but she also wasn’t, because she laughed and joked with them but never quite fully, because she would lean into their touch sometimes and then shrink away from it the next moment. Because she had walls all around her, and rarely, if ever, took them down.

     

    Rumi had always been scared of something.

    (Or: the bond between the hunters tells them of each others emotions, each others pain. Rumi, naturally, decides that her sins are hers alone to carry, that she cannot burden the other two with them. But such secrets rarely stay hidden.)

    Rumi failed.

    Gwi-Ma has ascended to the mortal realm and her girls, the loves of her life, are dead at her feet before she could even tell them. The four Saja Boys who killed them are turning to ash on the wind by Rumi's hand when Jinu offers Rumi his returned soul, his knowledge of Demonic Spellcraft-

    And a way back to right the wrongs.

    Now, Rumi is in the past, before they crashed the company plane due to the demons, before the Saja Boys, with one goal in mind: Save her girls and destroy Gwi-Ma.
    But her patterns, claws, and single demonic eye are still there. Her girls cannot see her like this, like the monster she knows herself to be.

    So, she runs. She decides to go it solo hunting demons and making it easier on her girls. She would give anything, do anything, to keep her girls safe. Even at the cost of herself.
