Summary
Harriet Potter knew many things. She knew she didn’t like going to Mrs. Figg’s house on the weekends because her cats were smelly. She knew that the best way to avoid Dudley and Piers without getting in any more trouble with Aunt Petunia was to run directly home from school after class through the back exit and then the garden. She also knew that on occasion, there was a voice in the back of her head that gave lectures on something called magic. This voice called her a word Harrie had never heard Aunt Petunia use before: it called her horcrux.
In which everything is mostly the same, except Harriet Potter’s heart wasn’t beating when she came out of the womb. It didn’t beat until there was a little intervention by a mysterious force called Death that claims Harrie as its master.
There are many side effects of this, of course. For one, there’s a boy-who-lived, not a girl who lived. An entirely different side effect is, of course, that the line between Harrie and horcrux has some cracks in it. Sometimes, knowledge slips through.

Starts strong but I don’t like where it went in the later works. Good writing, just not catering to my exact tastes. Jules Potter actually has an interesting character arc over the course of the series but it’s very two steps forward twenty steps back, by which I mean wildly frustrating. Also pretty sure this is the series where Obliviate isn’t just “forget this happened” but “let me rewrite your perception of reality to the point where it is effectively mind control.”

Summary
It is Harry Potter's fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With international politics, someone out to kill Jules Potter, the Boy Who Lived, and Slytherin House's internal drama, this year seems pretty standard.
Admittedly, the last time there was a dragon anywhere near Hogwarts, it fit in Hagrid's hut and didn't pose much of a danger to anyone. Who thought the Triwizard Tournament was appropriate for teenagers?

Aaaand this is where I start to disengage with the series. Not to say the quality goes downhill or anything like that it’s still very well done. But for me this is the tipping point into “what if the Death Eaters maybe sorta kind of had a point about this one thing in particular” and it’s been at least a decade since I’ve had any interest in engaging with that hypothetical. The tagline “blood matters, ability matters more” graduates from a line thats been repeated for narrative effect to full on Part Of the Plot. As a political and philosophical motto it’s better than the literal nothing of canon but it’s still like, literally factually wrong. It was worth reading the first time, but the only thing I get out of a reread is the chance to better develop/articulate what I don’t like about it, and no one needs that lol

The Potters were betrayed by Sirius Black but James was able to survive. Shame about Peter Pettigrew dying heroically but James was fortunately able to befriend his lawyer (/estate manager?) Ethan Thorne. None of that really matters or comes up this year though. James left Harry on Petunia’s doorstep and then figured he’d be fine until Albus told him Harry’s not actually a squib his Hogwarts letter just went out.

Hogwarts starts at 17. Dumbledore and Harry get him enrolled as Harry Evans, Insignificant Muggleborn, by hiding his scar and doing absolutely nothing else to change his appearance in any way. There’s a proper Luggage. Theo was born a werewolf. Harry and Dean start a football club. The Sidhe exist as a factual part of wizard history (not that Binns has anything to say about that.) Scabbers is looking sooooo sick poor guy :(

Summary
The plan was simple: retrieve the Horcrux, survive the cave, maybe cry later.
Then Harry woke up with a splitting headache, a missing Headmaster, and his face buried in the lap of a long-dead wizard—who, miraculously, seems to be getting better.
Now bound by soul magic, hunted by Death Eaters, and navigating an improvised Horcrux hunt with a sarcastic revenant, Harry’s pretty sure this is how people go mad.
But at least he’s not doing it alone.
(AKA the Harry Potter Warm Bodies fic that literally only I wanted).

What I wanted to write was a quick one-shot that explored the idea of Harry being the biological son of Voldemort, only Voldemort doesn't know he has a son and is also as evil as ever. Meanwhile, Harry is just a charismatic kid with a snake and ridiculously powerful magic.
It turned into a series rewrite.
Here's book one, I guess.
Features Harry Potter trying to keep his friends from doing crimes, a tired Remus Lupin spontaneously adopting a traumatized child with absurd magical capabilities, Severus Snape doing the bare minimum which is still somehow more than what Dumbledore is capable of, and Harry's friends' growing exasperation with Harry's terrible decision-making skills.

All while a dark lord from the history books waged a war on the continent, Professors meddle in things that frankly aren't their business. And wannabe Dark lords with teen angst and their first crush threaten to do him in. Harry just want to save the people he loves, and that's starting to mean more that just those that only exist in the future.

“Ah, go boil yer heads, both of yeh!” Hagrid suddenly yelled, and both Dursleys fell quiet and skittered back against the wall in fear. Hagrid turned to Effie then, face softening somewhat as he took her in. “Look at me, Effie.” She lifted her eyes to his only somewhat reluctantly. “Listen, right? What they aren’t tellin’ yeh—it’s not right, it’s not.”
Effie nodded when it became clear Hagrid wasn’t going to continue without a response from her first.
Hagrid took a deep breath, looked her right in the eyes, and said, “Effie—yer a witch.”
A moment passed, and then two. The only sound was the crackle of the fire.
She pinched her elbow.
Hagrid stayed where he was, eyes still full of kindness, revelation hanging in the air between them.
She wasn’t dreaming, was she?

“Ever the leader of the light,” Harry says with a smile. “Albus, no matter what you decide, I will make my own choices as to whether and how I fight him.”
“I understand,” Albus replies with an incline of his head. “I would expect no less from you.”
And then he is gone, and Harry is alone again. Albus is the only one he has spoken with in this dimension except for the teenagers, who summoned him last night and immediately panicked at the ritual’s success, and Poppy, whose focus had been his health. Harry thinks he was definitely much less troublesome when he was a teenager, even if some might disagree.
For a while, he watches the giant squid rise to the surface to sunbathe, its one large eye closed and tentacles relaxed. Harry does the same, lying back on the sun-warmed wooden dock, hands behind his head, his feet still dangling in the cool water. Eyes closed, he lets time pass. His wrist tingles from beneath its band. It’s psychosomatic, as the words on his wrist have been black for years, but it’s nice to pretend. This Voldemort is not Harry’s and yet it would something to see him again. Something so painful and heartbreakingly wonderful.
