“I just want to help…”
Regulus pulls out his wand, seeing red.
“I don’t want or need your fucking help, how can you not get it, Potter?” His wand is pointed toward James and he’s stepping closer and closer, until there’s pressure against James’ throat and a wall against his back. Regulus’ usually cold, sharp voice is flooded with rage and now more resembling Sirius’ than Regulus’ own. “Leave me the fuck alone or I swear to Merlin, I will hex you!” He pushes the wand into James’ neck even further, proving his point.
Except there is no fear in James’ eyes. He’s looking at Regulus with a glint there, like he’s admiring a precious sculpture in a museum. It makes Regulus’ insides stir. With anger.
“You’re so beautiful it hurts.” James whispers, immediately blinking rapidly, as if he wasn’t even aware he was saying it out loud.

Sirius preferred painting over sleeping. That is, until he dreamt of honey coloured eyes and angular hands. From that moment forward, the paintings seemed to take inspiration from the imaginary person in his head.

Summary
“Excuse me,” the stranger with the curls and the eyes and the nose and the lips and the hands, spoke lowly in his ear. Close enough that Sirius felt warm breath on the side of his face and it made him break out in goosebumps. He was so close. So close and so tall he had had to bend down to speak in Sirius’ ear.
The man had placed his hand on Sirius’ back in order to pass him, the squeeze behind him to get to wherever he needed to go. And in order to do so he had placed one of those large hands with the long fingers on Sirius’ back, low enough for him to feel a pinky and ring finger burn into the naked skin of his lower back. Instantly sobered up Sirius looked at him as he passed, and was only spared another one of those crooked grins and the wisp of soft t-shirt against his arm.
Light brown hair and long limbs soon disappeared in the crowd and Sirius was left with a pounding heart and weak knees.

Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.

It’s something like the complete opposite of where he finds himself; no idea where he’s supposed to be going, and agonising over every turn along the way. The idea of happily floating from city to city, figuring oneself out on the road, is both intoxicating and utterly, utterly terrifying.
Sirius is a neurotic mess on an ill-advised assignment for a travel magazine. Remus is ten years his senior, writing his thesis whilst living in Paris. Wine is involved.
