"What why?" Ryland asked confused. He tried to take peak around the corner however Colt snapped his head back to face him instead.
"He's the biggest douche this school has ever seen," Colt groaned, clenching his fists. "The school's quarterback, casted in all the big starring roles in the school play, ladies won't get off his back."

Summary
Summer break usually means that Ryland catches up on sleep and writes lesson plans alone in his apartment. Only leaving to meet up with old colleges that don't hate him and eating at diners so he doesn't have to cook.
This summer, Colt finally worn him down enough to stay with him and spend time learning how a movie gets made. Now he just has to spend the rest of the summer in a place he's never been surrounded by a bunch of people he doesn't know and not freak out.
That would be easier if Tom Ryder would leave him alone.

Tom paused mid step. He turned back to look at Ryland, a bemused smile settling on his lips. “You know, this bit is gonna get old eventually. You really should try something new.”
“I assure you, this is not a bit.”
When Tom Ryder mistakes Ryland for Colt, Ryland, unfortunately, mistakes Tom Ryder for a normal person. One who he just happens to keep bumping into. And who seems to keep flirting with him.
Or: The one where Tom thinks he’s flirting with his boyfriend, Ryland thinks a stranger is hitting on him, and Colt realises neither of them are going to figure this out without adult supervision.

“Are you filming in the area?” he asks.
“Oh yeah,” Tom waves a hand vaguely, “Top secret Hollywood stuff, though. Can’t just tell any fans. Even if they’re family of my friends, right? Sorry, man.”
From what Ryland had heard, ‘friends’ was the last thing Colt would consider him and Tom, but he doesn’t voice that, instead just nodding politely.
“I understand,” he says, even though he definitely does not, “But, uh, if it’s not too much to ask— I’m assuming you drove here— do you think you could give me a lift to my work? It’s just a five minute drive, but I bike, so I need—”
“Need me to be your knight in shining armour,” Tom finishes, nodding confidently.
