Lucifer struggles with someone actually summoning him and being pleasantly surprised by the encounter. Multiple times. When Alastor finally meets his fate, he has a very specific mission.

Summary
“You look like shit.”
A red gaze sweeps Lucifer from head to hoof and back again, followed by a well-sculpted eyebrow rising pointedly.
“Yes, yes,” Lucifer says from very much not the high ground. “Pot. Kettle. I’m aware. Why do you look like shit?”
Red places his free hand on his chest, fingers spread in gentlemanly offense. “I’m merely winded from all the effort I put into saving the Pentagram from your folly.”
Uh huh. No doubt Red’s a real hero. But first, a point of clarification. “My folly?”
“When you walked straight into the most obvious ambush of all time and were used as the unwitting power source for a doomsday device that nearly killed us all.” Black-tipped ears perk forward. “Ring any bells?”
Oh, fuck him. Also, no, not really. “Well, excuse me for underestimating what you sinners are capable of. None of you have ever managed to hurt me before in all the millennia you’ve tried. I’m not used to ambushes meaning anything.”
“Hence, folly.” Red tilts his head to the side at an inhuman angle, canned laughter swelling in the background. “You’re so good at it!”

Alastor's been... well, let's just say more irritable than usual lately. She really doesn't know what's wrong with him, but hopefully a trip away will be just what he needs! Frankly, this trip is the last thing Alastor wants to do right now - but he's got his reasons to want to avoid the hotel and its rather irritable residents right now. Besides, some peace and quiet might be just what he needs.
Too bad, this is hell, and there's no such thing as 'peace' or 'quiet'. A mess up with the rooms, a kidnap plot and lingering poison are just a few things out to destroy his plans - but just might end up pushing him far closer to the princess than he ever thought he'd be...

Alastor has faced some of the greatest evils that have ever existed - has stood firm in back alleys against overlords stronger than him, has several times dodged exorcist spears and even divine guitars.
He is NOT going to be defeated by a fucking HOTEL ROOM and the desperate housewife from HELL.
Alternative summary: Alastor spends a sizeable amount of time locked in single combat with a hotel room door, Vaggie grows as a person, Lucifer Morningstar is Very Concerned that his ex-wife and current-whatever may be getting along too well, Charlie spends a lot of time being confused, Frederick von Eldrich comes out of retirement with style, the Archangel Michael develops a headache, and Vox attempts to de-bug his conscience.
There are also copious musical references for no good reason whatsoever.

Angel was exhausted. He couldn’t quite remember when it had gotten this bad, when the switch had flipped and his life had become the living nightmare that it was. The worst part was that there was no escape, even when he went to bed, the memories and nightmares wouldn’t let him rest peacefully. He was so exhausted and he couldn’t even fucking sleep. He was good at hiding it though, always had been. Sure, everyone knew that Valentino was an asshole, but no one knew what it was like behind closed doors. They didn’t need to. He didn’t want them to.
People saw what Angel wanted them to see, nothing more. It had always worked, right up until he found himself at the hotel bar one night, face to face with a terrifying grin that was asking questions he had no right to ask and Angel had no interest in answering.
Or
Angel can’t sleep. Alastor notices.

Summary
Alastor had certainly found himself in stranger situations, but spending his nights reading in the bedroom of Hell’s most infamous porn star was definitely not something he had expected to become commonplace. It was something he justified as a matter of convenience, he really didn’t have anything better to do in the middle of the night and therefore the arrangement was mutually beneficial. It was also, admittedly, a minuscule act of kindness; an old habit from his life that he hadn’t quite managed to rid himself of, like scattering crumbs for the birds or cooking for those in close proximity to him.
It was strange, but so much of Alastor’s life in Hell was, and this was no more noteworthy than the rest. That is, until it was. Because what should have been an overwhelmingly unremarkable experience was starting to feel like… something else.
Or
Alastor’s inability to mind his own business sparks something he doesn’t know how to label, nor is he sure he wants to.

Summary
Alastor had been at the Hazbin Hotel for barely three months, and he was already bored. Violently so. Nights were the worst, of course, with all other denizens of the hotel shuffled off to bed. Normally he would read, or listen to his records, or plan his next broadcast, or go for a wander in the bayou. But with things as they were, he found he was quite exhausting his interest for such diversions during the day. So he wandered in the shadows, half-corporeal and only half-cognizant, flitting from room to room like a hummingbird starving to death among shrivelled flowers.
That was how he came to see Angel Dust kicking the front door open at 2:32 in the morning.

There’s a lot he can say here.
Like how Alastor makes his hopeless heart flutter with the belief that maybe dreams are still possible; that Alastor makes him feel something, anything, everything all at once, and it is as heavenly as it is torturous.
But all he can manage, in a voice so small he can scarcely believe it’s his own, is, “He makes me laugh.”

A spark of interest lit up Alastor's tired eyes.
"I came here to talk to you about Charlie. Seeing us fighting upsets her, and I don't want to hurt her if I can help it. So here's what I propose: for Charlie, we play nice. You can hate me, fight me, insult me in private all you want, but in front of Charlie? We're friends. If she ropes us into one of her redemption exercises, we do it, no complaints. If she asks if we're getting along, and some snide remark comes to mind, you hold your tongue. If anyone sees us arguing and it has even the smallest chance of it getting back to Charlie, we drop it. You do this, and I'll heal you." Lucifer stuck out his hand. "Deal?"
