Summary
Mack is almost horrified by how casually his father keeps handing Will instructions. Rick had mentioned that having Will on the team would help Mack a lot, considering how good he is on the ice. You don't get drafted fourth overall for nothing.
He had briefly wondered how that’s going to work. They both play center.
Mack’s best friend, Connor Bedard, who had the privilege of meeting Will first, had already told Mack the same thing: Will's a great guy. They get along well enough, but Connor admits it's hard to keep a conversation going. They are both so relentlessly polite towards each other and civil that sometimes it feels like talking to a media-trained version of himself rather than the actual person.
"Wake him up early. Make sure he eats." Will nods solemnly, as though committing the instructions to memory. "Got it."

“Fake date.” Buck repeated with all the confidence in the world that Eddie didn’t believe for a second because what Buck was proposing was insane. “For the holidays.”
