Summary
His ears rang faintly as the steam curled higher, wrapping around his face like silk. The smell shifted again, becoming sharper, more personal. Comforting and electric all at once.
Harry swallowed hard.
Why did it smell so… good?
He dragged his sleeve across his mouth, stepping back slightly, but the feeling only grew. A restless heat bloomed low in his chest, spreading outward in slow waves. His thoughts went fuzzy around the edges.
Focus.
This wasn’t right.
He blinked hard, trying to shake it off.
Across the room, a chair scraped.
Harry looked up without thinking.
Draco Malfoy stood a few tables away, slowly stirring his potion.
The dungeon noise dulled into a low hum. Draco’s hair caught the torchlight, pale strands glowing like spun silver.
A strange pull twisted in his chest, sharp and magnetic. His pulse roared in his ears. Every instinct screamed that something was very, very wrong.
