Summary
When Renoir paints a Canvas for Gustave with a painted version of himself in it, it is with the intent to make it so that his husband would not be alone the days Renoir is away from home, and Gustave loves. He loves so powerfully. So of course he asks Renoir some time later to craft a companion for the Painted Renoir living in solitude within the Canvas, someone to love and live with when Gustave could not be there.
