Only to get rudely interrupted that someone barges in on his tomb, that someone is none other than Lord Megatron. Which Megatron seems to refuse to let Optimus perish in such a pitiful way.

Cogged mechs and femmes go through heat and rut cycles. Optimus Prime, who has only had a t-cog for a couple months now, does not know this. So, when he goes out to get some fresh air and clear up some of the weird symptoms he's been feeling lately, he comes in contact with the last mech he wants to see and promptly goes into his first heat.
