Summary
Set after the Season 3 finale, Bertha and George move further away from each other as they try to find their way back.
I’m not entirely sure where this fic is going, but I’m enjoying the ride. Hope you do, too!

Summary
In the aftermath of the Newport ball, there are still many things that George finds untenable about his wife. But the only thing relevant right now is that Bertha is halfway across the city, intending to see her indisposition through without him. That she is going into heat and she did not send for him.
That is untenable.

Summary
It's thoroughly unfortunate how Gladys' new governess is driving George to distraction. That is to say - it's his own fault really; he should really have been paying more attention when Bruce had brought him the references of the women who'd applied for the post. That way he might not find himself in this abominable, impossible situation.
Or: when Gladys' governess, Bertha, slips naked into George Russell's bed, the outcome is decidedly different.
