    I’ve seen many publications over the years speculating on my own, and my husband’s, hockey stats and accolades in relation to our romantic relationship and when the public assumes it started. 

    We don’t owe this to anyone. But we’ve also been playing professional hockey for seventeen years and we’ve both run out of ahem, cares to give.

    Christ. All he wanted to do tonight was curl up with Jackie on the couch but somehow he was instead looking down the barrel of a night at Rozanov’s.

    Though… an evening of just him and Shane did sound really nice. Like how it used to be, back when Lily was just a mysterious girl in Shane’s phone, so far removed from anything real and tangible.

    “You sure he wouldn’t mind?” Hayden asked. Not that he really cared if Rozanov minded, but it was the polite thing to inquire.

    Besides, now Hayden was kind of curious to see the hole in which Rozanov inhabited. Maybe there’d be primitive cave drawings on the walls.

    or; hayden finds himself at ilya rozanov's for the night with shane, sans ilya. with every physical memento around the house and every trace of shane in the corners, it's abundantly clear that his best friend is disgustingly and all-consumingly loved by his boyfriend. hayden finally understands too just why shane loves him right back.
