World Notes: This is a one-shot inspired by the world after the longfic The Chairs . Do you have to read it to enjoy this story? No, but here are some key points: Beron is dead, and has been for a couple of years. Eris is the High Lord of Autumn. Azriel lives with his mate in Forest House in the Autumn Court, functioning as Autumn's Spymaster and Eris's mate.
For those of you who read The Chairs, this came out between Chapters 42 and 43, where a couple key characters were introduced. I did not include them here, as I didn't want to spoil the arc; so, assume they are "off camera" visiting friends. :)

Authors note: This is a mostly canon-compliant (AU-canon divergence) dual POV fic that begins in chapter 13 of ACOWAR and adds the single plot point of Azriel and Eris’ mating bond. It is told from a majority of Azriel and Eris’ POVs, with rare guest POVs from time to time. Lots of dialogue pulled from A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas, with added color, scenes, and character development, as well as minor characters, by me, the author.
This fic is currently ACTIVE and ongoing. Once it is complete, I do plan to move into ACOFAS, and eventually ACOSF as well, all as Azris retellings.

Summary
Azriel has been on a spiral downwards ever since the female he loved died centuries ago. Rhysand and the others have given him so much time to heal on his own. He spent centuries drinking and getting high and starting bar fights until Rhysand had enough and sentenced him to stay in the House of Wind under strict orders until he deems him fit enough to leave. Rhysand only authorized Azriel to leave the House of Wind to attend meetings with Eris, at first.
Eris is often fighting a long battle of producing an heir. Tick Tock, his father has him on a clock. Only fucking females that his father deemed worthy whether he wanted to or not, if not just to avoid a beating. Mother only knows how many more scars can fit on the already mottled and destroyed expanse of his back. Meeting with Azriel once a week seemed to become his only escape.
