Summary
Jena Dondarrion dies giving birth to Matarys, leaving Baelor with only one living son. He refuses to marry again, and determines to live his life in mourning.
Eleven years later, Maekar's eldest daughter is widowed. King Daeron decides that it is his turn to cause problems and so the best possible way to handle the resulting diplomatic incident caused by Maekar is to marry his newly widowed granddaughter to his widower heir. Exactly no one is happy about this.
(Now with added exploration of gender divides and sexism in Westeros because I physically cannot help myself.)

Inuzuka Miyu hadn't meant to have a baby with Hatake Kakashi. It was honestly just a post-mission one-night-stand.
Now, usually, Inuzukas don't marry. Primary custody just goes to the mother. Secondary to the Clan. Any man is welcome to pitch in, even to move in if hey wanted (so long as the mother allowed it, which they generally did), but fathers are mostly told out of politeness. If the mother even knew who the father was, that is.
But it takes a special kind of fool to get between an Hatake and their cub. Which Miyu and Tsume aren't.
The question of custody stays, though.
It does take Kakashi an embarrassing amount of time to twig in that the drawn out custody battle for Raiden had shifted, and that he was fighting Tsume for custody of himself.

Summary
This is a work in progress!!! After the 2-year break I am working on it and I'm on chapter 19/21. But I am not a serial writer: I need to write it in whole first then edit it and beta and edit more. Estimated date for posting a completed fic (and some updates in part 1): September 2026.
“When we kill him, everyone will be happy?” asked the girl, despite her mother trying to get her away from the stranger and into the jungle.
“Everyone will be happy, yes,” the Elf replied without looking at her.
The girl managed to get a step closer to him and asked again: “Everyone?”
“Everyone,” he said as the islander woman finally managed to get her child away. Then he added quietly, heard only by himself and the raging sea, “except those who cannot.”
